I make music mostly at home, in the garage, where I record and mix stuff that keeps poping out of my head. I used to play in bands, but nowadays, due to time constraints, it’s just me, the instruments and the computer. And some ocasional friend.
If you like (or dislike) my music… your feedback is very much appreciated.
Networking
let’s record
If you play or sing and want to contribute with some tracks or ideas, please contact me! I’m always anting to meet new people, other musicians, other vibes, grooves and musical mambo-jambos.
let’s jam
At the moment I’m not available to join any project, but I’d be very happy (and proud) to know that you would consider an invitation. Please contact me anyway, I’m in it for a jam. (Área da Grande Lisboa)
let’s write
I’m in love with music since I can remember. I had very little training and I’m very limited at music theory but I get around. I write a new song every week but I can’t write lyrics or sing. Are you’re interested in original material or arrangements for your project?
For all of the above please use my email
or skype me at andre.torgal.
Projects
The Peak Point
The Peak Point has been my main musical project since 2002. I haven’t been able to publish a lot of music but the archive is now huge.
My main purpose since then, since I realized I was not going to play “in a band” in the next few *sigh* years, is to explore the process of instrumental rock song-writing with less compromises. Read more, listen, download.
Original Soundtrack

Project I’m working on since mid-2006. It’s an evolution of The Peak Point soundtrack idea but going way outside the rock thing. I’m now composing everything at the keyboard, exploring different themes and connecting them through a story-board, instead of writing individual songs about specific “scenes”.
Again, if you play any music instrument (or sing) and feel interested in contributing don’t hesitate to contact me.
Friends

Everytime a musical friend comes over my house he is invited to lay down some tracks in the garage. Sometimes magical stuff happens. I will ask for permission to publish some of the gems we got all the day down to a good mix.
Oldies

In the early 90’s I played in a lot of “garage” bands in the Lisbon area. We did the glorious circuit of high-schools, neighbourhoods, colleges and hit the border line with a couple of gigs at the mythic Johnny Guitar club.
I have a miserable collection of those golden days, kept in a few dusty tapes. I already have a few mp3 tracks out from of it and will upload them one of these days.
Gear
Guitar Gear
[More coming soon] I play a Thinline 72′ and Hot Rod Deluxe. Got a couple of stomps but don’t use them often ’cause I’ve been having too little stage and too much VSTs . I’m addicted to the e-bow.
Home Studio
[More coming soon] The box is a windowzed runing on P4 at 3.7 with 1GB. The interface is the honest Edirol FA-101 with 10 in/out over firewire. Got a midi keyboard and couple of 19”. Love Cubase. Addicted to free VSTs.
